Network Version ABC6 (latest is 27 July 2010)
This page is provided as a convenience to existing customers and dealers who may need the latest ABC6 Accounts network (multi-user) installation and files. These files will not be of use to you unless you also have the Network Installation Manual and unlock keys.
If you are a potential customer who would like to evaluate or purchase the network version ABC6, please contact ABC Direct Sales or a local dealer who will be pleased to supply a complete fully working trial version.
Please read the Network Installation Manual carefully before starting to use these programs. If you do not map the drives correctly or do things in the wrong order, the ABC programs are likely not to work.
Install ABC6.2 onto local Server
Use the normal ABC6 Installation program (available on the normal downloads page). This will install the ABC6 programs and datafiles onto the computer you are sitting at (which is to be the Server computer).
If you need to install onto a Remote Server (eg. locked away in a cupboard somewhere) use the Remote Server Install program (see below).
If you want to use this local computer as a workstation as well as the server, then use the WorkStation Install program (see below) after you have set up the server.
Install ABC6.2 onto remote Server
Remote Server Install 6.2 (approx 1.5Mb). Current version 6.272
Use this program to install ABC6 datafiles onto a remote server (ie. not the computer you are sitting at). This is required only if you cannot sit at the server computer and use the normal ABC6 installation program.
WorkStation install ABC6.2
Workstation Install 6.2 (approx 23Mb). Current version 6.272
After you have configured the network and installed the ABC6 server, you can use this install program to set up each WorkStation. You need to run the program on every computer that you wish to use as an ABC workstation. If you later add a further computer to your network (or buy new computers) use this program to set them up as a WorkStation. Running this program should not affect your ABC datafiles -- but, as always, we recommend you make a backup before you use this or any installation program.
